Bert has nearly two decades of experience across the federal government and the private sector spanning Washington, D.C. and Silicon Valley. In business, he has served as a legal, policy, and communications executive in companies and advisor to CEOs and founders from the earliest days through M&A events, IPO and beyond. He has deep experience with autonomous systems. In government, he has served as Senior Advisor to two U.S. Secretaries of Commerce and to leadership at the Bureau of Industry and Security.Bert is currently Senior Counsel for Autonomy and Robotics at DoorDash where he manages commercial, product, regulatory, and general legal matters for DoorDash Labs' air and land-based programs.He has bachelor’s, master’s, and law degrees from Syracuse University, began his career as a law clerk to a U.S. District Court Judge, and is a member of the Bar of the District of Columbia, where he lives with family.
